Family fled Germany; Nazi party tried to force Rolf's father, a professor, to become a Nazi. Rolf fled to England. Air raid in Sheffield, England. Joined British Army during World War II, Royal Electric and Mechanical Engineers. Anti-aircraft, V1's. Served with British in India in 1945 in 23rd Independent Infantry Brigade.
