OCTOBER
October 6, 2007 - USS Joseph P.
Kennedy, Jr. 13th annual reunion
Friends & former crewmembers of the USS
Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. will celebrate the 13th
annual reunion of their Gearing class destroyer, which served with
great distinction during the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis,
and NASA's Space Recovery Program. Memorial service and wreath-laying
ceremony are open to the public.

13-21, 2007 - U.S. Navy Birthday Celebration
Free admission to all active-duty and retired U.S. Navy military
personnel with I.D. Immediate family members will enjoy 50% off
admission. In addition, both receive 10% off retail purchases in
the Gift Shop.
NOVEMBER
November 10-18, 2007 - U.S. Marine Corps Birthday Celebration
Free admission to all active-duty and retired U.S. Marine Corps
military personnel with I.D. Immediate family members will enjoy
50% off admission. In addition, both receive 10% off retail purchases
in the Gift Shop.

11, 2007 - Veterans' Day at Battleship Cove
For over 225 years, our nation's servicemen and women have selflessly
protected our shores, and on Sunday, November 11, Battleship Cove
will pay them tribute by offering free admission to active duty/retired
military with I.D.
DECEMBER
December 7, 2008 - Pearl Harbor Day at Battleship Cove
Battleship Cove will commemorate the 66th anniversary of the attack
on Pearl Harbor by hosting a brief ceremony at 12:55 p.m. -- the
exact hour of the Japanese strike. Located on the Battleship
Massachusetts, the service will include wreath-casting
rites prefaced by brief remarks. Subsequently, attendees will be
invited to adjourn to the Pearl Harbor
Room, where honored guests from the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association
will share their perspectives on Pearl Harbor and its timeless relevance.
December
8-16, 2007 - National Guard Birthday Celebration
Free admission to all active-duty and retired U.S. National Guard
military personnel with I.D. Immediate family members will enjoy

9, 2007 - Breakfast with Santa at the Carousel
Snowy days, holiday lights, and Santa Claus will all be here sooner
than you think. Get ready now by making plans to attend the Fall
River Carousel's Breakfast with Santa from 9 am - noon. Families
can enjoy a delicious hot breakfast plus, kids will have fun making
special holiday craft, there will be story time, face painting,
Carousel rides, and more. Of course, the highlight of the event
will be a photo with the jolly old elf himself. Seating is limited,
reservations are required!
JANUARY
January 21, 2008 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Each year on the third Monday of January schools, federal offices,
post office and banks across America close as we celebrate the birth,
the life and the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is a time
for the nation to remember the injustices that Dr. King fought.
A time to remember his fight for the freedom, equality, and dignity
of all races and peoples. A time to remember the message of change
through nonviolence. Battleship Cove will feature a film of Martin
Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights Movement
FEBRUARY
February 18-22 Family Fun Week
During February vacation, families can spend a day aboard Battleship
Cove's historic vessels. Learn how to tie knots, fold the American
flag, and more!
MARCH
March 14 - Family Overnight
Spend the night on a WWII battleship!
Sleep in restored Navy bunks, eat meals "chowline style"
in the Officer's Wardroom, and rise and shine to the sound of reveille.
Guests will enjoy all-day admission, three delicious meals, and
will have the opportunity to participate in shipboard activities.
They will also receive a free pass to the Marine Museum, located
just two blocks from the Cove, and a 24-page souvenir guide. Call

March 15-16
- St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Our destroyer, USS Joseph P. Kennedy,
Jr., was named for the eldest brother of John
F. Kennedy, former president and proud member of a prominent
Irish-American family. Spend the day aboard Kennedy and search for
the bright green shamrocks painted on her steel. Enjoy scavenger
hunts and free prizes all weekend long!
APRIL
April 21-25, 2008 - Liberty Weeks at Battleship Cove
Visit Battleship Cove during school vacation week for a festival
of patriotic exercises and fun-filled educational workshops for
the entire family. Enjoy special guest appearances and entertainment.
The Fall River Carousel will be open
to the public from 11:00 - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday. All activities
and workshops are free with paid, discounted admission. $12 adults,
$8 children 6-14, free to children under six. Call 508-678-1100

MAY
May 3, 2008 - Girl Scout Overnight
Attention all Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Leaders! Come and experience
a special overnight program designed just for you. In addition to
knot-tying class, Morse Code instruction, storytelling hour, and
vintage movies, Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to work towards

2008 - Open House at Battleship Cove Community Boathouse
Celebrate spring season under full sail at the Battleship
Cove Community Boathouse. This year's first open house will
take place on Saturday, May, from 1-4 PM. Learn about the various
sailing and instructional programs available and tour the facility.
The Battleship Cove Community Boathouse was established to provide
the community access to the water. Learn how to sail and enjoy boating
on beautiful Narragansett Bay. For more information or to get on

May 24,
2008- Fall River Carousel Opens on Weekends
Carousel #54 of the Philadelphia Toboggan Company opens to the public
on Memorial Day Weekend. Hours: Weekends only 11AM - 5PM. Housed
in an elegant Victorian-style pavilion, this unique waterfront venue
has been completely restored to the original splendor of its early
days at the historic Lincoln Park. $1.00/ride, 7 rides/$5.

2008 - Vietnam Veterans Memorial Service
A memorial service honoring the men and women who served our country
during the Vietnam War will commence at 12:00 PM and is open to
the public.
May 30,
2008 - Memorial Day at Battleship Cove
Honor and commemorate the men and women who gave their lives for
freedom. Experience a traditional military observance at 12:00 PM
with the raising of the American flag from half-staff and a 21-gun
salute, firing one shot each minute.
