FEBRUARY
February 13, 2010 Family Overnight
Spend the night on a WWII battleship! Sleep in restored Navy bunks; eat meals "chow-line style" in the Officer's Wardroom, and rise and shine to the sound of reveille. Guests will enjoy all-day admission, three delicious meals, and will have the opportunity to participate in shipboard activities. They will also receive a free Overnight Survival Guide filled with fun facts and activities.

February 15-19, 2010 Family Fun Week
During February vacation, families can spend a day aboard Battleship Cove's historic vessels. Learn how to tie knots, spell your name out in signal flags, participate in scavenger hunts, learn the proper way to fold the American flag, write letters to active duty troops, and more! World War II Disney cartoons will also be shown during the week.

March 12, 2010 - Family Overnight!

March 17, 2010 - St. Patrick's Day at the Cove
Our destroyer, USS JOSEPH P. KENNEDY, JR., was named for the eldest brother of John F. Kennedy, former president and proud member of a prominent Irish-American family. Spend the day aboard KENNEDY and search for the bright green shamrocks painted on her steel. Enjoy scavenger hunts and free prizes.

March 20, 2010 - Princess Party at the Fall River Carousel 1-4 pm
Calling all princesses to the royal court for unlimited rides on the Carousel. Make your own princess jewelry. Enjoy a royal make-over. Dine on delicious snacks and princess punch. $10 per person. Call for reservations now - space limited. 508-678-1100 x 101.

APRIL
April 9, 2010 - Girl Scout Overnight
Attention all Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Leaders! Come and experience a special overnight program designed just for you. In addition to knot-tying class, storytelling hour, and vintage movies, Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to work towards the "Women's Stories" and "Now & Then Stories from Around the World" badges and their patriotism insignias. April 19-20, 2010 - Patriot's Day Weekend
Patriot's Day commemorates the battles fought at Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775, which marked the start of the American Revolution. Patriot's Day was enacted as a legal holiday in 1894 and is observed in both Massachusetts and Maine, which was formerly a part of Massachusetts.

April 19-23, 2010 - Liberty Week at Battleship Cove
Visit Battleship Cove during school vacation week for a festival of patriotic exercises and fun-filled educational workshops for the entire family. Enjoy special guest appearances and entertainment. The Fall River Carousel will be open to the public from 11:00 - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday. All activities and workshops are free with paid, discounted admission. $12 adults, $7 children 6-12, free to children under six. Call 508-678-1100 for details.

May 29, 2010 - Fall River Carousel Opens on Weekends
Carousel #54 of the Philadelphia Toboggan Company opens to the public on Memorial Day Weekend. Hours: Weekends only 11AM-5 PM. Housed in an elegant Victorian-style pavilion, this unique waterfront venue has been completely restored to the original splendor of its early days at the historic Lincoln Park. $1.00/ride, 7 rides $5. Also available for Birthday Parties, Family or Corporate functions.

May 29 - 31, 2010 - Memorial Day Holiday
FREE ADMISSION FOR VETERANS: Memorial Day Weekend - all active duty, retired and reserve military personnel who show proof of service will be honored with free admission to Battleship Cove!

May 30, 2010 - Memorial Day at Battleship Cove
Honor and commemorate the men and women who gave their lives for freedom. Experience a traditional military observance at 12:00 PM with the raising of the American flag from half-staff and a 21-gun salute, firing one shot each minute. The ceremony is open to the public.

JUNE
June 4-7, 2010 - Battle of Midway Observance
The Battle of Midway was a major naval battle, widely regarded as the most important of the Pacific Campaign of WWII. Continuous showing of Battle of Midway film.

June 6, 2010 - 66th Anniversary of D-Day at Battleship Cove
Battleship Cove will pay tribute to the servicemen who fought so bravely 66 years ago in Normandy. Visit our D-Day exhibit and climb on board a WWII era mechanized beach landing craft (LCM)

June 14, 2010 - Celebrate Flag Day at Battleship Cove
Do you know your flag etiquette? Come to Battleship Cove and learn how to fold the American flag, the significance of each fold, interesting facts about our flag, and display procedures. Bring your old, worn flags to Battleship Cove and dispose of them the proper way.

AUGUST
August 6,7,8, 2010 - Fall River Celebrates America
This three-day event features nearly endless amounts of ethnic edibles, fireworks, and performances of top entertainers. The international festival runs throughout the three days and offers Portuguese, Italian, Lebanese, and a score of other cultural crafts and treats. Friday, a naturalization ceremony is held on board the Battleship Massachusetts, and on Saturday a Sailing Challenge will take place at the Battleship Cove Community Boathouse, and is open to the public. On Saturday evening, guests may enjoy a 25-minute fireworks display from the battleship's fantail - the best vantage point in the city. Tickets for the fireworks will be on sale prior to the event in the Ship's Store. Call 508-678-1100 for more information.

September11, 2010 - Rite of Reflection Ceremony at Battleship Cove
In honor of the ninth anniversary of the nation's most deadly attack, Battleship Cove will conduct a Remembrance Ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial site with a wreath casting followed by a 21-gun salute. (Time TBD) The ceremony is open to the public.

September 11, 2010 - Family Overnight!

September 19, 2010 - POW/MIA Ceremony
Battleship Cove will host a reflective ceremony in honor of Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Day at 1:00 PM on the deck of the battleship USS MASSACHUSETTS. The Legion's POW/MIA Committee will sponsor the ceremony. The ceremony is open to the public.
